Common Market- Connect For

Blue Scholars’ newest release, New People (Empire remix), was recently reviewed on mToH. This Guy liked the sound, but questioned if “story-telling,” Blue Scholars’ proclaimed forte, actually occurred. Story-telling, schmory-telling. I absolutely loved it. The song has already topped 100 revolutions on the ol’ iPod, according to my iTunes play count. The sound reminded me of an underground rap group out of Seattle I discovered a few years ago, Common Market.
As it turns out, Common Market and Blue Scholars share the same DJ/producer, Sabzi (I knew I was getting better at this stuff). The other half Common Market is emcee RA Scion, who, dare I say, does a better job of story-telling, or at least has a more cohesive message, than Blue Scholar’s Emcee Geologic.

How come every underground hip hop group has a Brooklyn accent, no matter where they’re from?
